Research background
Sermorelin is a synthetic peptide corresponding to the first 29 amino acids of growth-hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH 1-29), the minimal fully active fragment. Acting at pituitary GHRH receptors, it stimulates synthesis and pulsatile release of endogenous growth hormone, and was historically used in research and diagnostic testing of GH reserve.
Its pharmacology is well characterized; the former diagnostic product has been discontinued.
