Research background
Retatrutide (development code LY3437943) is an investigational single-molecule triple agonist of the GIP, GLP-1, and glucagon receptors. Engaging all three incretin/glucagon pathways is studied for its combined effects on energy metabolism in research models, distinguishing it from selective GLP-1 and dual GIP/GLP-1 agonists.
Phase 2 trials characterized its metabolic activity across the range studied. As an investigational compound, retatrutide has not completed phase 3 development and is not approved for any use.
Summary of published scientific literature provided for laboratory research reference only. It is not a claim of safety, efficacy, or suitability for any use, and does not describe or recommend any human or veterinary use.
