Compound monograph CRL-MET-AOD9604
01

Background

AOD-9604 is a synthetic peptide corresponding to the C-terminal fragment (residues 176-191) of human growth hormone, engineered to retain the proposed lipolytic and anti-lipogenic activity of the parent hormone without its effects on growth or insulin sensitivity. Research has examined its action on adipose-tissue fat metabolism.

Originally advanced as a candidate anti-obesity agent, it showed lipolytic activity in preclinical models, though clinical efficacy outcomes were inconclusive. It has no approved therapeutic indication.
