Research background

L-Carnitine (levocarnitine) is an endogenous quaternary amine essential for the transport of long-chain fatty acids across the inner mitochondrial membrane for beta-oxidation. Research and clinical literature address carnitine biochemistry, mitochondrial energy substrate handling, and defined deficiency states.

Its biochemistry is well established; clinical use is recognized in primary and secondary carnitine deficiency.

Summary of published scientific literature provided for laboratory research reference only. It is not a claim of safety, efficacy, or suitability for any use, and does not describe or recommend any human or veterinary use.
