Research background
SNAP-8 (acetyl octapeptide-3) is a synthetic peptide developed as an elongated analog of the cosmetic peptide Argireline. It is studied for its proposed ability to interfere with assembly of the SNARE complex involved in neurotransmitter-vesicle docking, with the aim of attenuating muscle contraction relevant to expression lines.
The mechanism is extrapolated from work on the parent acetyl hexapeptide; evidence is largely formulation-based and cosmetic in nature.
Summary of published scientific literature provided for laboratory research reference only. It is not a claim of safety, efficacy, or suitability for any use, and does not describe or recommend any human or veterinary use.
